Step 1

Incision Entry: Reopen the original intraoral incision along the lower lip gum mucosa, or follow any previous external scar if present.

Step 2

Dissection to Implant Site: Bluntly dissect along the original subperiosteal plane, avoiding injury to the mental nerve. Carefully incise and separate the fibrous capsule around the implant.

Step 3

Implant Removal: Gently remove the implant to prevent tearing surrounding tissue. If damaged or infected, thoroughly clear fragments and any purulent discharge.

Step 4

New Implant Placement: Insert the new implant into position.
